You probably agree that cellphone companies are bad at billing and customer service. I had a terrible experience with Sprint. I tried to cancel my contract when in was due to expire after two years. Much to my surprise when I called Sprint to cancel, someone had changed the expiration date to an additional four months even though I had a signed agreement. They said that my contract date was revised due to a request that I made. No one could explain when I made the request or for what reason it was made. They tried to hold me to the revised date to keep me from canceling the contract.

After much discussion (speaking to over 5 people), I was able to get Sprint to honor our my original commitment. Needless to say, I left Sprint, nearly one year ago and want be coming back. I’m with Verizon now and I am not pleased with them either.

President Obama conducted the first town hall internet meeting .  The first meeting of it’s kind in the history of the internet.  This unprecedented grass roots effort is one that is needed in doing the critical work that will lead to our economic recovery.  It is a slow and tedious process, but the constant high tech communications will go a long way in opening the lines of communications  from the people to the White House these are important times hen we will need to focus on areas that will make a difference.

There will be a little trial and error involved in this process.  But it is a time when we willl need to move forward with bold ideas and risk taking in order to accomplish our economy goal. These are indeed the focus  that we will need to ursue as a nation.  Obama’s idea of bringing diverse segments of the population together to solve problems.  It is a way for President Obama to get a guage of what the American people are thinking.

Make no mistake the President has his work cut out for him and this focus will need to continue in order to to move from our negative economic condition.  Issues centered around Education, Mortgage Issues, Health care and a host of domestic issue that have threaten to undermine our progress economically.  President Obama identified the problem of declining equity in homes as the root of the mortgage crises.

Questions about outsourcing were asked.  Obama says that we cannot have an economy thst relies a low skilled and low pay wages.  There will always be a country willing to do the same work for lesss. President Obama basically proposed that we retrain workers  to work in higher skilled occupaction in green job, high tech job, that will have more of an opprotunity to put Americans Bacl to work.In order for this to happen we will need to  put more resorces and money into training and education. Obma urged patience and persistent; warning that there will be more job losses.

President Obama  said Universal heath care “is our goal”.  Obama says that  he is not an advocate of scraping the current system.  He would like to transistion in to a new system that includes a number of initiatives, but more importantly transition to a universal health care system.

The CEO of AIG said that some of the people who received a bonus said that they would stay and try to help, but they turned around and took their millions of taxpayer dollars and walked out with our money.  In other words, they truly cared about their country and the American people.  This is absolutely ridiculous.  The folks at AIG do not have a clue and further do not care about American people who are suffering through layoffs, no food to eat, living in tent cities, their homes are being foreclosed on, and they have little or no hope of securing a job.

Wall Street has ruined this country.  Corporations are laying off older workers who make a high salary in order to please the hallowed share holder.  If you are an employee who has at least 2o to 25 years in the bank with one company and it is a publicly traded company, you are at risk of  being laid off in favor of keeping a younger workers who can be paid much less than the you the older worker.  Don’t get me wrong young workers deserve a job too and many of them have been laid off as well.  The point is corporations do not care about anyone; young or old. All in the best interest of the glorified share holder.

Companies are only interested in Wall Street and they could care less about Main Street. If you have never been laid off, let me enlighten you about what happens. You put in 25- 30 years of services to a publicly traded company. You worked harder than just about anyone at  your place of employment. Did not take vacation days. Performed your job over and above requirements;  then you get laid off. They tap you on the shoulder and tell you to go to HR, where you hear a speech that your job as been eliminated, it has nothing to do with you. It is not personnel, but you no longer have health insurance and we don’t care that you have a pre-existing condition (cancer).   That happened to me and that’s what corporate, and publicly traded companies do to  hard working Americans.

So yes AIG needs to get the money back from these greedy Wall Street executives and give the money back to the American people. They need it to eat. Buy health care and to feed their families.

Wall Street financial firms reportedly  received 18 million dollars in bonuses for 2008, this after the Government bailed them out. They took tax payer money after many of us have been laid off, or as some of you are still working, but faced to take a week off without pay, and receive no bonuses to boot. What give them the right to take our money and spend it on bonuses when we have to cut back on food and other amenities just in order to make it?

I guess as usually, they think they are priveledged and entitled to the good life, while the rest of us struggle to make it on our own with no health insurance, living on severance pay, and on the brink of being homeless. Think about it. Make phone calls to your congress person, your senator.  President Obama called all of these bandits out on this today. Now the American people should do the same.
