Is Donovan McNabb on the hot seat in Philly?  He continues to under achieve in the playoffs and it appears that Philadelphia Fans and the media are getting a little perturbed with him.  With  the second drubbing of the Eagles at the hands of the Cowboys, this time 34-14, many are wondering is this McNabb’s swan song ?   Perhaps it should be.  He has lost his skills and really has not met expectations during his reign as top quarterback  for the Eagles.  I don’t know the answer; perhaps no one does, but it’s time for the Eagles to zero in on a new quarterback of the future.

Brett Farve made his preseason debut last night against the Kansas City Chiefs.  They analysts thought that his reads were on point as the Chiefs blitzed often for Favre’s short three series  reps. Farve will help the Viking. The receiver will need to get use to the Favre’s hard throws, making sure that routes end in timing with Favre’s throws. Too often against the Chiefs,  Favre’s passes arrived but the receivers were in route. It’s definitely a timing issue. This can be ironed out with more reps and time on the field.

So the jury is still out on Favre and no one knows for sure how this saga will turn out.  After  all Favre is 39 years old and the clock is ticking, The big question is can Favre deliver one more time and do the Viking have enough weapons to go all the way? Currently, that does not seem to be a viable option. It will definitely be motivation to  watch the Vikings this year.

Brett Favre is back! Last year it seemingly was in a land far, far  away with the New York Jets, Not  in the Packers back yard and I might add, lots of folks are steaming mad.  Primarily the Green Bay Packers.  Will the Packer have motivation…Yes. Will Brett Farve have motivation….Yes, Yes!  It will make good reality football and lots of entertainment.  Suddenly the  spotlight has shifted from Michael Vick to Brett Farve.  The NFL ratings will be up this year.

The two quarter back the Viking have  are terrible.  So a 40 year old Brett Favre is not quite a bad idea of the Viking. So you have mad people in Minnesota, namely the two quarterbacks competing for starting jobs and you have  mad Green Bay Packer, primarily because  Brett Favre is back in the same division with them.  It really makes for some interesting drama. The Michale Vick story will  move a few slots down, probably to the relief of the Philadelphia Eagles and Vick. Everyone will be talking about Brett Favre’s return for the remainder of the year.

The only question that remains is whether Vick  has enough in the tank to make an impact this year. Only time will tell.Let’ sit back and enjoy the show

The Brett Favre Merry Go Round continues. And we don’t know which side to choose. That is the $64,000 question. Whose side do we choose and why? One minute Favre retires, the next minutes he does not, one minute the Packers claim Aaron Rogers is the starting quarterback and Brett Favre cannot compete for the starting job if he returns to the Packer training camp. The next page is a different story, now the Packers say that Favre can compete for the starting job. Some say this is a ploy to raise his trade stock. Others say that the offer of $20 million over the course of 10 years is still on the table.
Whatever the case, it appears that we are dealing with a totally dysfunctional family; the Green Bay Packers. Of course it isn’t their fault, some mistake were made while growing up and it produced rampant indecision and an inability to own up to reality. Someone please call in Dr. Phil, we have a classic case study in the making! When was the last time that anyone has seen such antics in professional football. Even the commissioner is getting in on the act; acting as some sort of family adviser. But even he can’t get the families members to come to terms and end this latest episode of the Packers, “A family in Turmoil, Part 10″.

On Monday night Brett Favre and Packer coach, Mike McCarthy, met for almost four hours discussing his future with the Packers, no one knows what was said, but it was reported by NFL TV that Brett Favre said he did not know if he would be allowed to compete. One thing is certain, someone related to the Packers, better get their house in order and resolve this situation before the season starts or they can kiss championship aspirations goodbye. It is entirely too much of distraction to deal with at this late date. But this soap opera can continue and both sides look like they cannot possibly have a clue. Perhaps some mediation is in order.
