John McCain does not know how many houses he owns. John McCain, it stands to reason, does not know how many houses his wife owns. I wonder if he knows he own an office complex and that is worth over $14 million dollars?

Since McCain did not know these things the Obama Campaign checked and guess what? He owns 7 Houses and just purchased one in Arlington, Va. Let me see now, which candidate is out of touch with the average American; Obama, who owns one home and just so happens to know where he lives? Or is it McCain who net worth is probably over $100 million; and own 7 homes, and has no idea where he lives?

Does not take a rocket scientist to figure out the logistics. McCain is out of touch, with you, me, and a whole bunch of other folks. Except for those who make over $10 million per year. Do you think someone worth $100 Million a year could care less about you or me who are struggling to make ends meet?

Americans are thinking about electing Republican big money to the White House? If you are making less than $250,000 a year you don’t consider yourself in the same class as John McCain. He can pay  for his own health insurance if need be; so he doesn’t care about those of us who can’t. That off his radar screen.

And he calls Barack Obama an elitist. What’s wrong with this picture? If McCain lost his job, his wife could easily take care of him for the rest of his life. Definition of an elitist; someone who doesn’t know how many houses he owns.

Do you think McCain cares that eggs cost $3.00 a dozen or 4 rolls of paper towels cost $7.00? Do you think  McCain saves his change for a rainy day? Do you think McCain brings his lunch everyday from home? Oh, that’s right,  he doesn’t know where his home is.

Do you think he’s facing a foreclosure on one of his homes like millions of Americans are? He not. Because He’s worth $100 million a year.

You get the picture and if we are as smart as we think we are as Americans; there only one choice for President. Someone who feels your pain. Someones who goes to Wendy’s and MacDonald’s, White Sox games,or who ever your favorite team is, just like you. I think you know; Barack Obama should have your back economically, not someone who owns 7 houses and is worth $100 million dollars.

Barack Obama is at a crossroad. I write this article knowing that the election is shifting to McCain’s favor. Why because McCain’s, gutter politics is winning.  America is  buying the Gutter, Gorilla campaign of McCain.  Strike and withdraw. Attack  and hide. Gorilla politics.  Will America buy it this time, will America fall for Republican antics? Look where it has gotten us.  Outrageous Gas Prices, Economy bordering on recession, food prices sky high, the Mortgage crises is all but stagnating our economy.  And the America public is buying the rhetoric of John McCain, Mr. Unpredictable. The American people, even though everyone is suffering including those who or willing to go with more of the same and don’t have the vision enough to see change is staring them right in the face if they can step out of their comfort zone.

America has been down this road before and this road is littered with stalled Republican cars that can’t be jump started. Is it Barack Obama’s fault that he is now one point ahead of McCain in the latest poll?  If Obama can be faulted, he has been too nice to John McCain this summer.

I believe that Obama has gotten the message that he has got to bring it this time and  focus on attacking John McCain.  Attacking his qualifications and the things that he believes in. Obama has to show America that this is his country too and he does not have to take a back seat to John McCain.

Today , Barack Obama made a move to get tougher on McCain. That is the route that he needs to take.  Let’s face it Obama is not like most Americans. Most Americans don’t  or can’t relate to Barack Obama. So he will have to overcome this. It won’t be an easy thing for Obama.  Some people are not ready for change.  But Obama’s charge is to overcome it by convincing them.

By now many people have seen the T. Boone Pickens’ ad. What you think about it is important. Given the state of the economy and the rising gas prices that we face, it  most certainly will elicit much needed debate. That is not a bad thing. Good honest debate about anything is good. Are we as a nation ready to listen to T. Boone Pickens ideas about alternative energy?  Do we feel that Mr. Pickens may have an agenda? Do we care if he does?

The most pressing issue on our plates is the rising gas prices that are taking a huge toll on our country. Energy cost are rising as well; so debate and discussion is not only fruitful, but needed.  Of course anytime you have a debate there are people for the implementation of an idea, and nearly always there are detractors. But given the state of our economy and the rising cost of fuel, debate is more than needed.

In many communities across America there are more than just passing conversation regarding alternative energy. European energy companies who are already  providing natural energy  in Europe, or trying desperately to buy exisiting utilities in the United States in the face of staunch and unwavering opposition.

This is occuring in  States that can ill afford to turn down overtures.  So we have to lend an ear to the discussion and an open mind. Only through innovative and thoughtful discussion can we climb out of the deep energy hole that we have dug ourselves into.

The National highway traffic administration has recently put on tougher enforceable standards on the auto industry in order to bring them in line with EPA standard and to raise the fuel economy from 26 mpg to 35 MPG by 2011. The auto industry is balking because of the high cost this will entail and the loss of revenue they will suffer by producing these cars and working to meet tougher standards. The is a difficult assignment given an auto industry that is suffering tremendous losses in the face of high gas prices and rising overhead cost.

While the consumer has no choice but to reign in spending to make ends meet, this has in effect left the auto industry reeling from unsold cars and double digit losses in sales from the previous year. This is in effect a crises of monumental proportions and flys in the face of the National Highway Traffic administration mandates. There is literally no end in sight. We were hit with high Gas prices, but no plan in place to deal with a slow down in automobile purchases in just about every town and major city in America.

Off shore drilling is not the answer at least not immediately. Dependence upon foreign oil will continue for the foreseeable future. We rode the tide of good times for way to long without having the foresight to prepare for the inevitable; the high jacking of the American Consumer with our continued dependence on foreign oil.

Barack Obama pointed out in his Larry King interview that the New Yorker Magazine cover was insensitive to Muslim Americans and Muslims in general.  In addition to being insensitive to Obama.  Much has been said about the New Yorker decision to publish this cover. This is a distraction that quite frankly should not be part of a presidential political campaign.

Obama mentioned that it was a failure of the Bush administration to not pursue Bin Laden and a mistake.  Obama feels  America needs to form an alliance with the Pakistani people.  Obama says if he had actionable intelligence to go after Bin Laden and if captured try and  subject him to capitol punishment.

Obama says  that He will like to utilize the talents of President Clinton.  He feels his mission is the bring all the talents of  all key political leaders in a bi-partisan way.  There are over 7,000 foreclosures a day.  Obama mentioned that we need  to pass a bill to  help Americans out of the  Mortgage crises that we now are seeing cripple this country.  The stakes are high and  there will be enough issues to go around for both McCain and Obama should either one make it to the White House.

George Bush has slowly changed his foreign policy with little notice. Despite the fact that his approval notice has hovered under 40%  for quite sometime; Americans continue to be married to Bush First term foreign policy initiatives. Included among other things; the war on terror and a commitment to the war in Iraq.  Slowly without explanation, fanfare, or scrutiny, Bush has changed his foreign policy and moved it more toward the mainstream thought and belief of Americans.

But the political Candidates, Obama and McCain have successfully tagged Bush as a foreign policy failure.  There’s are very few people in America that does not hold this view.  Yet Bush has changed his stance, primarily because, his Foreign policy has not worked and by his actions of backing away from many of the first term initiatives, Bush by his subtle actions has all but admitted that the foreign policy initiatives were a huge mistake.

What does this do to John McCain who now appears to be distancing himself away from Bush, as if he had some sort of dread disease?  McCain will need to walk a political tight rope to appease conservative republican and to at the same time tone down his maverick image which may not sit well with the republican base. It puts McCain in a difficult position.

On the other side of the ball, Obama, must work to tie and pin the Bush Legacy squarely on McCain.  For Obama it is like playing a game of Pin the Tail on the Donkey, or in this case the elephant, accept McCain is a somewhat of an elusive target, given that he has  deflected Obama’s attack by running negative ads and steering the public away  form the true issues.  Sooner or later, Obama will force McCain into an issues fight and McCain will have to spill his thoughts on how he really feels about the issues.

Check out the Video of the ad, by Paris Hilton, of the wrinkly, white haired guy. It is extremely funny. Here’s the link: Pay special attention to the beginning of the video, it was edited by nearly every news organization known to man.

It official, Bret Favre is no longer a Packer. He’s a New York Jet. He’s going to the Big Apple, which has not seen a player of this magnitude since, well, Broadway Joe. Although Favre is somewhat reluctant, this will be a great move for him. He will literally own New York. The entire state will be focused on the Jets. Make no mistake this is a big time, high profile market.

The elevation of the Jets to the big time is evident with Farve. They now become meaningful in a town the the Giants owned with their Super Bowl victory this year. The Big Apple will be rocking with this trade. Favre probably isn’t aware of it now, but life just changed for him. The move to New York will test Favre. The fans there will not tolerate mistakes and they will let him know it. So he will be challenged by two things; carrying a team on his back to the playoffs, and pleasing demanding New York Jets Fans.

But Favre is a great quarterback and he is up to the challenge. He also has an awful lot to prove. Perhaps hoping against hope that he will meet the Packers in the playoffs. This season will be fun to watch. A high profile quarterback in New York with a chip on his shoulders; a great combination. More to Come.

The title says volumes about the motives, tactics, and beliefs of John McCain. He resorted to what some would view as trivia and perhaps childish actions by comparing Obama to Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. It seems Republicans start to feel awfully insecure while the entire world seems to fawn over Obama.

So instead of taking his ball and leaving the playground, McCain decides to taunt Obama; playground style. But how do you dare attack the world’s biggest celebrity? It want be so easy for the “Maverick”. Though he’s known as a gambler, McCain may not hold the winning hand this time.

By attacking Obama he risked being seen as a whiner at best and misguided by his judgment and strategy at worst. He needs to concentrate on defining issues that separate him from Obama. Not trying to “swift boat” Obama. This is a strategy by McCain that we all knew was coming.

But like a skilled counter puncher Obama always counters with a punch of his own; particularly with his own ad countering McCain. This one will certainly go 15 rounds; does McCain have the temperament to go the distance? John McCain—Same old politics, Same failed policy.

Glen Martin, 48 years old,has been working on a Jet Pack, ala, Buck Rodgers, James Bond nearly all his life. It seems he finally ready to go to market with a version that will in stay in the air nearly 30 minutes.

That may not sound impressive, but it is considering no one has been able to stay the air more than 5 minutes; not withstanding Agent 007, who by the way could do just about anything; you know eject himself from cars airplanes, etc. Standard hero fare.

No one know where Martin’s invention will go. Perhaps he’ll inspire still another comics book hero; and you know there will be a disclaimer saying; “do not try this at home”. At any rate the Jet Pack featuring the flying man should be interesting. Jame Bond, Maxwell Smart, and Buck Rodgers would be proud.
