Mobile phone users who love their phone number but still want the cool features of Google Voice — including computer translations of voicemail messages — will get their wish Tuesday, as Google announces a light version of its innovative phone service (and a new feature for full-blown users).

Google Voice is a Swiss Army knife of cool and free phone service add-ons — including free SMSes, an online mailbox for voice messages, the ability to have one number ring all of your phone numbers simultaneously, low international rates and a customized voicemail messages for every contact. It’s not phone service per se though, since you still need a mobile phone or landline.

But using Google Voice requires users to use their Google Voice number as their main number. That’s a not-inconsiderable burden, given that some mobile phone users have thousands of contacts who know their number and don’t want the hassle of changing business cards and forcing others to update their contacts.

That old adage if you build it, they will come , holds true in today’s Internet marketing landscape.   Building traffic is a slow and tedious process that even the experts seem to be stumped in determining the single most effective way to build web traffic.  There are many applications to help build traffic, such as Google Analytics.  If you have a blog or website, I recommend that you sign up for the service.  The application can track  visitors to your site, how long they stayed there, what they read while there, where they live by geographic area and a host of other criteria that you can customize or create.  It is a great resource,  a web publisher would be smart to sign up.  It is a free service.

Perhaps  your post on how to navigate the  social media landscape drew over   one thousand unique visitors in one day.  Google Analytics provides a real time report on site activity.  Now you know  immediately what topics garner the most traffic and you can build off the results, to create high readership posts. Of course the  keywords you use to tag your posts are effective in  moving your site  up the search engine rank.  This is imperative to increase click through to your site from direct traffic.

Social networking sites are the most effective ways of building an audience rapidly. Join as many groups and sites as you can. This will increase your chances of increasing your exposure and building your  brand.  It you looking for free blog hosting sites, try Word Press or Blogger.  If you feeling adventurous and would like to host you own site, there are many web hosting  services available.  Go Daddy.Com or Host I Can, are great places to start.  If you track it correctly they will come.
